Prestige in PEI

Prestige cabinets and Prestige Floral started off as a small cabinet company in a garage in 1974. The family owned company has since expanded to include giftware, floral arrangements, home décor, and kitchen design.

Owned and operated by Joanne Parnham, the businesses employ 26 people including installers and designers in their two island locations. Parnham credits much of the success of the business to their incredible staff and the value they place on interacting with customers.

Expansion has been steady over the years. “The busier we got, the more space we needed,” Parnham says. Prestige is now the biggest cabinet manufacturer on the Island, which helps them be competitive with the big box stores. “Competition is healthy, and it keeps us on our toes,” says Parnham.

The Prestige group of companies has been working with their credit union since the 70s. Parnham says they have been courted by other financial institutions in the past, but wondered why she should take a chance and change after so much good progress has been made over the years. “No matter who I call, they have the answer,” she says. “The staff at Consolidated Credit Union is great, really friendly and professional.”

“The financial aspect of running the business just feels taken care of” Parnham says, “the telephone banking system, online services, and drive-thru services have saved me a lot of time. I’ve been in this business for 35 years,” says Parnham, “things are constantly changing, and it’s just fun.”
