Back in 1985, Bruce and Shirley MacNaughton had a vision to create a food destination with integrity and flavour.
It all started over donairs. Vegan donairs.
After finishing up at PEI’s Culinary Institute of Canada and travelling the world, Lauren Marshall set out on a decidedly more local adventure: To bring mouth-watering plant-based food to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Her shop, Real Fake Meats, has brought healthy, plant-based option to vegans/vegetarians and meat eaters alike. And as for those donairs? They’ve been voted as one of the best in the city.
