The 1987 classic teen movie Can’t Buy Me Love turns 30 years old on August 14. It’s a classic story—boy meets girl. Boy loses girl. Boy gets girl back eventually. (Spoiler alert!)

But while you might not be able to buy love per se, love can certainly cost you money. From that first date, to a bouquet of flowers, and even an engagement ring, they all come with a price tag!

In honour of Can’t Buy Me Love’s 30th anniversary—and because it’s one of the most classic Beatles songs—we’ve prepared a brief overview of what love can really cost.

Dinner and a movie: $150

Bouquet of flowers: $77

Engagement ring: $4,000
