On Prince Edward Island, a small business named From the Hive began its journey in 2014. 

The story of From the Hive is intertwined with the story of its founder, Dawn, whose love for honeybees transformed into a thriving enterprise. What started as a fascination with beekeeping, evolved into a profound appreciation for honeybees, raw honey and pure beeswax.

From the Hive's mission was clear: to craft skincare products and candles that honoured the natural benefits of honey and beeswax. Their handmade honey soaps and beeswax candles, each meticulously crafted, soon gained local recognition for their quality and unique charm.

The journey wasn’t always smooth. The opening of their storefront marked a significant milestone, but the unexpected arrival of COVID-19 posed a new challenge when their store had to close. Rather than seeing this as a setback, Dawn adapted their business model, which led to new opportunities.

The support from their local credit union has been instrumental in their growth. Helping navigate the complexities of business development with a friendly and understanding approach. This support has been more than financial—it has felt like the guidance of an old friend.
